The Mowhay, an extension to a holiday home in Cornwall - designed to take maximum advantage of the changes to UK Permitted Development rules brought in during 2013 - has recently been shortlisted in the Homebuilding & Renovating Awards 2016.
The new annexe extends as far as the maximum permitted 8 metres beyond the back of the existing house (which is only 7m deep) and the twin roof ridgelines step down from the maximum allowable 4m high to create a folded slate surface that fans out in plan from the original building – formally a cart shed.
